It has been one year since I added to this blog. My life has not been lacking with things to talk about, however I have not been happy here in Brooklyn and seeing my feeling written down has made me more depressed. My hear still aches when I think of all my friends in SLC. I miss them like crazy, and I miss the ease of living in SLC. I don't think New York will ever feel like home. The struggle is real. Example, on Monday I had to drag my sick self outside to move the car. Which involved waking Conway who just fell asleep for a nap. Then I had to go back and move it again 2 hours later (street cleaning protocol), and when I returned to my car all the spots in font have already been taken by 12:30 (even though they are not supposed to park until 1:00). That's just a typical NYC parking story. Every time I need groceries I ask myself: Do I give up my spot and drive? Do I walk and only buy what I can carry? or do I order online and wait 24-48 hours?
There are a gazillion events and shows happening every day in NYC. Yet the cost of attending added to a babysitter means it's nearly impossible to go out without spending $400 minimum. I joined 6 different meet-up groups since we moved here. To meet fellow geeks, atheists, moms, etc. I have not attended one meeting because of circumstance. See Adam gets home from work around 6:30-7pm, and it takes 45-60 min to get to the locations by train. So I can't make it the events in time.
Ok enough whining. wait...
THE STREETS ARE FILTHY.
Ok last one for now.

a few good women
Now am am going to try and be positive. Yes I have made friends. Friends I would greatly miss if we were to move. Friends I would start a business with. Women from diverse backgrounds and beliefs. Viewpoints I would not have gotten the chance to explore in white bread Utah. I have learned allot about the Muslim community by living in a neighborhood very populated by middle eastern immigrants and native born. I am grateful for this. As an outsider that is not very fond of religion and the oppression of women I see them no different as any other group of Americans. Bringing with them their influence of food, decor, music, art, and values. It's another spice in the melting pot. And I welcome it.
I have a greater appreciation for bagels. No where in SLC can you get a bagel that compares. Warm... soft.... flavorful. Yum. I am also pleased with Archers preschool. His class is so diverse hat 4 languages can be spoken (english, chinese, arabic, spanish) at any given time. His teacher is super cheerful and creative. Her arms are covered in tattoos which makes me like her even more.
This post is just to catch you up a bit. I would like to start writing more. On the days I am depressed or lonely and have nothing fun to write about I will write movie reviews, fan theory, and other geek related things.
Peace.
