My family warmed up in Florence Arizona this past week. We stayed at Adam's parents’ house which is located on a golf course with amazing sunset views. Archer was thrilled he thrives in the outdoors and I welcome the extra hands with his high energy. I was looking forward to some relaxation and fun. I forgot moms don't get to turn it off and fun is a relative term. Most fun I see these days are children’s activities and an adult can only handle so much before they break. As for rest… ha… Conway refused to sleep in his pack-n-play so I went to bed every night at the same time as the kids then struggled to sleep next to him. He is waiting for 4 more teeth to cut through his gums and was in allot of pain. Conway is a total bed hog as will kick me until my pillow in on the night stand and my legs and off the bed.
My parents drove up from New Mexico to spend a few days with us. It was so good to hug my mom. I really needed it and the visit with her felt too short because I missed her the instant they began driving home. During their visit Brian and Carleen took us to a cute old mining town turned tourist trap. Archer rode a train and Weylin treated me to a ride on the zipline. The shops were cute but I left with no souvenirs. After all its hard to shop with two toddlers who want to grab at everything.
We had a blast feeding animals at Rooster Cogburns Ostrich Farm. Overall was it my ideal vacation.... no cause I had no beach, dancing, or drink with an umbrella. But it was good to leave the city for a week. Adam need a break from work for sure. And of course it was good to visit with my in-laws and my parents. So... Success really.
